Once again, bad Mommy!!!! It has been a while since I posted on here. My baby is rapidly turning into a little girl! She has been doing so many funny things. People who know me well know that I am not girly at all. My child however is doing many girly things. She will take my makeup brushes and use them on her face, she will take pots of eyeshadow (closed of course) and rub it on her face, she rubs lotion on her face and says "oooh pretty," she knows how to carry a purse and when I put a tiara on her she stood in front of the mirror batting her eyelashes and saying pretty. Thankfully she will also shake her head back and forth and say "I crazy!" She knows the value of a comedic act and she is SO loving and generous. At her baby cousin's 1st birthday she went up to every child (some of which she had never met) and made sure that each child had a toy to play with and would give them a hug if they let her. Her amazing acts of kindness touch my heart in a way that I never thought was possible.
At her 18 month check up she weighed 25.3 lbs and is 32 inches long. Dr Malone is very pleased with her progress and he loves getting hugs from her.
Her vocabulary is exploding!!!! Here are some of the words she is saying:

1st haircut on March 23rd from my close friend Jeannie. It looks amazing!!!!
She is cutting the upper canine teeth and that should be it until the 2 year molars come in.
She had her first visit with her dentist Dr Gatrey in February and it went very well.

Yikes!!!! I have not posted since Madison's cousin was born and that was 8 months ago! Bad Mommy!!!! So much has happened. I will do a simple list to get caught up.
June 14th: Madison's first step! She had pulled herself up on the cedar chest and was cruising around. I walked by and jokingly said "walk to Mama" and she did!!!! After that getting her to walk was still a slow process because she crawled very well. By her birthday she still was not walking full time but by 13 months she was walking slowly and by 15 months she was running!
Madison's first birthday: Wow! I think the event was almost as big as mine and the Hubby's wedding! It was held at Tannehill State Park at the school house. So many people were there to show their love for her. The theme was hot pink and zebra stripe. Peggy made a huge and beautiful cake for her and she had her own to destroy. LOL!!!!
At one year: Madison's length was 29.5, weight 23.1 lbs. She could say Mama, Dada, CAT (always loudly), and bye bye. Favorite books were Goodnight Gorilla, That's Not My Baby (and Dog). She quit the bottle cold turkey on July 19th.
At 13 months she was totally weened off of breastfeeding.
At 15 months: She started calling her little baby cousin Kat-Kat and she loves her so much. When she sees her she has to hug and kiss her. At her 15 month check up she was 23.1 lbs and 31 in long.
At 16 months: Madison loves to put shoes on! It can be her own shoes or Mommy or Daddy's shoes. She can really dance! Child has more rhythm than I could ever have.
She has four upper front teeth, four lower front teeth, upper and lower left molars and the lower right one is just about to pop through.
Bad news at 16 months: Madison had her first ear infection and sinus infection which led to her first time to take antibiotics. Amoxicillin did not work at all, Omnicef worked but gave her horrible poops with led to her first bout of diaper rash. Now as of 11-22-10 she has started liquid z-pack.
New words include: "Oh nooooo," "no" and that one gets said a lot! She says lots of stuff but we just cannot figure out what she is saying. Lots of tone changes and expression but no idea. She says something that sounds like either "I pee" but she has not tinkled or "ah pee" with a heavy accent on the ahhh sound. As Auburn fans we would like to believe that she is saying Aubie but I kinda doubt that. She will say Dixie (our wonderful Lab) but not a lot. She hugs and kisses everyone! She is also blowing kisses. I am sure I have missed lots but hopefully I will get back and fill in the blanks.

Wow!!! Madison is now 9 months old!!! She has been out as long as she was in. LOL!!! She had her check up with the g.i. doctor and it seems that she is starting to outgrow the reflux! YEA!!! When she goes back in three months they are going to wean her off the medication. Her 9 month check up with Dr. Malone was the next day. Everything was perfect! She weighed 19.7 lbs and was 28 inches long. She is baby talking up a storm. I would love to know what she is saying. LOL!
4-22-10 Madison has her first cold or infection. Boo! She is so congested that she can hardly breathe. She is running a low grade fever too. We will be at the pediatrician when they open at 9:00. Poor pitiful little bit.

A new cousin!!!!

March 20th: Madison went to her first concert! The Alabama Bluegrass Hall of Fame. She listened to Three on a String. She loved it! That night we got a call from Aunt Kendell letting us know that she was in labor. This ended up being Madison's first night away from home. She got to spend the night with Grammy and Papa. She did great for them and had a great time getting into everything. I missed her like crazy!!!!

March 21st: Madison's cousin Katharine Storey Potts was born at 11:46am weighing 6lbs 8oz and 20 inches long. I am sure that they will be great buddies!

Madison is still crawling extremely fast and will pull up on anything. She can do a chin up on some stuff! Her hair is down to her shoulders and it seems that those blue eyes are going to stay blue. :)

The two little teeth are all the way out now! They are just too cute! Last night she pulled herself up on the footboard of the bed and was walking a little while holding on to the footboard. Most of the time she crawls all the way and is not doing the sniper crawl anymore. She is also making lots of new funny noises.

Yesterday Madison turned 7 months old! She now has two little teeth that have emerged from the gum line. She is still crawling but most of the time she looks more like a sniper creeping around. She can pull herself up to her knees so I had to remove the bassinett part of the pack n play. She is still "talking" up a storm. Dada and dede are used frequently.

I finally got Madison to say dada!!!! She has been saying mama and I did not want Rocky to feel left out. When she was saying mama it was just a fluke according to Rocky but he has not mentioned that again since it is his turn. LOL!!!! She gets so excited saying dada and dededede.
She is loving the yogurt melts and puffs. She tries to feed herself and she might get the odd puff in her mouth.
This is such of an exciting stage for her it seems like she does something new every day!!!!

Madison had her 6 month check up yesterday and it went very well. She weighed 15 lbs 8 oz and was 26 inches long. She has been on the compounded Prilosec for one week now and it does seem to help. I am going to try giving it to her at 6 pm instead of first thing in the morning. She is saying Mama like crazy and several other vowel-consonant sounds. She is now eating meats, vegies, fruits and grains. The only things that are off limits are eggs and nuts. She is doing this new thing where she pokes out her jaw and lip, it makes her look like an old man. LOL!!!! She is also making high pitched squeaks, it almost seems like she is talking to herself.

She CRAWLED!!!!!

Madison made her first coordinated crawl today!!!! She has been just pushing herself and rolling until she reached her destination. Let the baby proofing begin!!!!!

Saying Mama!

Madison has been saying Mama since November but I thought that the first word did not count until they knew what they were saying. I was thinking that it would count if she touched my face and said Mama. My friends said no, what she has been doing is to be considered her first word. YEA!!!! It was Mama!!!!
We have an appointment on Saturday at Childrens with a GI specialist. I hope that he or she can help my sweet little girl.

Madison had her first trip to church on Sunday and she did great! We went to Brandy and Eddy's church to see Sarah "sing." It was hilarious!
We have an appointment with a gi specialist on the 9th of January. Today has been a very good day with her reflux. She has not vomited once today. *knocks on wood* I put her back on the soy based formula. The super expensive Nutramigen gave her horrible gas and did not help the reflux. I also tried getting the Enfamil brand instead of the Target brand. I know the ingredients are the same but maybe there is some tiny difference because she is doing great on it so far.
We have been to three Christmas parties her Grandaddy's office party, the Carter party and the Storey party. It was unbelievable how great she did. She never did get too fussy and she was so happy to see everyone. I am super excited about her first Christmas and I know that it will only get better each year, until she hits the teenage years :O/ LOL!!!!

As I type this I am knocking on wood. Madison has not thrown up all day!!!! Dr Malone increased her Zantac and Reglan to 3 times a day and put her on a very expensive formula but that is fine so long as it helps her. I am getting very excited about her first Christmas and her first Christmas party is tomorrow afternoon. Now, what shall she wear?????

Madison has been eating baby food for about a month now. She has really got the hang of it. Her favorites are sweet potatoes and she LOVES prunes with apples. Her doctor was hoping that the introduction of food would help her reflux but it has not. :( He adjusted the dose of one of her meds today. She is really moving around much more too. If she could only figure out how to move her legs and arms at the same time she would just about be crawling. We are really looking forward to her first Christmas. She has already been wearing Christmas clothes. I really do not care if I am overdoing it, she only has one first Christmas! LOL!!!!

Madison had her 4 month immunization shots and the doc said to go ahead and start her on food. Her first meal was pears and oatmeal cereal. She loved it!!!!

She also had her Christmas portraits done. She just amazes me with how happy she always is!!!

Oh my big girl is 4 months old today! It is so unreal how fast she is growing. She is now rolling over all on her own and she has discovered that she loves sleeping on her tummy. This terrified me until her new doctor told me that is the best position for her to sleep in with her reflux. Bless her heart, she does have reflux. She had an upper gi done on 11-5-09 to see if it was reflux or a blockage. Thank God it was reflux, at least that can be treated with medicine. She had an okay Halloween. She looked very cute but the reflux kept her throwing up all night. She did get to spend time with her cousins Jenna and Allison and her little friend Layla. I am sure that Halloween will be even better next year. She is having her Christmas pictures done tomorrow morning at Portrait Innovations. I cannot wait!!!!!

On the 3rd of this month Madison got tickled and laughed! I also discovered that she loves to be bounced on your knee. She was either laughing about that or how Auburn was beating Tennessee. LOL!!! It is the sweetest laugh you have ever heard. She is also pulling up really hard. On the 5th she almost rolled over at Grammy's house. If she only could have figured out how to move her arm or roll over it she would have had it. She was trying to get to a pink elephant that was clipped to the side of the pack n play.

OMG!!! Madison had her first real laugh tonight!!! She has been trying to for the past few weeks but she had her first chuckle! I did get sad tonight thinking how much Cheryle would love seeing her beautiful face and seeing the huge smiles.
I read her first story from a Halloween book that her Grandaddy bought for her last night. She was very into it.
She put on a huge show for Grammy and Poppa today. She was "talking" up a storm!!!

My sweet little girl started something new today, burping like a man! I have never heard a baby burp that loud before! LOL!!! She can also grip on her own without help. The Baby Einstein ocean themed activity gym that Mom got for her is awesome and she loves it. The reflux has calmed down a lot but the teething still is bothering her. I got her first Halloween costume the other day and I know it is cliche but I got the lady bug because she looks so good in red and I loved the tights that came with it. She is now going to sleep even earlier (usually around 10) which is awesome! She still sleeps all night long.

Madison has added a new sound tonight. "Baa-lung." She already has been doing oooohhhh, ah-oh, maaaaa, ummmm, and her favorite gaalung.
She is doing the smiling and laughing more and more every day. The hubby and I just melt over that one!
Either the teething or the reflux does make it difficult for her to breastfeed at night. Sometimes I have to give her a bottle of expressed milk. The Orajel does not seem to do squat for her and the teething tabs only last for a short time.
Tomorrow is going to be interesting. We are going to a big consignment sale and I will have her in the front carrier and there are no strollers or diaper bags allowed. I will need to shop fast! LOL!!!

This sounds crazy but I swear that Madison said Mama last night. She was having a screaming episode from gas or teething and it was clear as day. I know that it is probably a fluke but it broke my heart for her to be in pain and cry out for me. She had a huge poop a few hours ago so maybe she will have an eaiser night tonight.

Wow! It is so hard to believe that Madison is 2 months old! I decided to start a blog because I am afraid that I might forget the little things. A really good example is that I had forgot that I threw up twice during labor and that the second night we were home from the hospital a terrible storm knocked out power at the house overnight and well into the next day.

At her last appointment she has the first round of immunization shots and she did scream and it was very sad. She weighed in at 10 lbs 8 oz. She does seem to be teething with is odd but not unheard of. She is still taking the Zantac for the reflux.

She "talking" like crazy and she loves to kick. I am very worried that she will catch whatever Rocky is sick with. He is being very careful not to touch her.
